You won’t find fish fresher than that which is served at the Plymouth restaurant, Catch 22. ‘In the context of the carbon foot print, our shoe doesn’t even touch the ground’ Mark says, pointing at the fishing boats in the Plymouth Barbican harbour, 10 meters from the restaurant front. The lovely little fish joint which prides itself in high quality fish and outstanding customer service, has seen success fast. ‘I couldn’t believe it when we hit number one on Tripadvisor in the first three months’ Mark says, and he’s not fishing for compliments, he is genuinely excited. Mark and Sam, the pescatarian masterminds behind Catch 22 like to stretch the tentacles of their expanding fish empire. You can also enjoy Catch 22’s fruits de la mer at The Mayflower Sailing Clubfurther down the sea front, or ‘The Club’ as Mark calls it, which has the capacity to host larger parties. When asked what’s the best part of it all, Mark replies:

‘I think what I love the most about the whole venture is the fishermen. Such a vibrant selection of characters – I love going on a mission to get the fish, and a bit of banter while bargaining over the prices!’
