Booking & Information
So you have had time to have a browse, you like what you’ve seen and you are thinking about making a booking. Exciting! Here is an overview of what you can expect from the booking process, and in the lead up to your wedding.
GET IN TOUCH
Don’t feel like you have to have everything figured out – you might just want to say hello to see what the lady behind the camera sounds like and ask me some questions. I’m always up for a chat and would love to answer your questions however big or small.
You may wish to discuss any special requirements you have in mind, and of course, check that I am available on the date of your big day. A full, free consultation is available to every potential client with no obligation to book.
IT’S BUSINESS TIME
So, you’re feeling pretty good about it all and ready to tick ‘booking a wedding photographer’ off your to-do list. My wedding prices are available here.
When you confirm your booking with me, I’ll provide you with bank details and an electronic contract to finalise and secure the date. Each booking comes with a non-refundable deposit, amount depending on the package. Please note, that your date is not secured until the deposit has been paid and the contract signed and returned.
The remaining amount is payable two calendar months before the actual wedding date. It is also possible to pay the remaining amount in instalments.
If you are worried about being in front of the camera, don’t. Each booking comes with a consultation which gives us a chance to discuss your preferences and style. We’ll bounce some ideas before the wedding and make sure we’re on the same page about what you like.
With the ‘Dawn til Dusk’ and ‘Full Day’ packages I offer a free engagement shoot so you’ll get a practice round to feel comfortable in front of the camera – and some lovely engagement photos. No awkward poses, I promise!
Finally, it will be important to have all the practical details of the wedding established and shared before the wedding day. This includes timings on the day, any special requirements or restrictions to do with the venue, photos and consideration of Plan B in case the weather is not on our side.
I will get in touch with you to make sure I have all the necessary information closer to the wedding day, to give you good time to plan everything.
ON THE DAY
Typical footage of the day includes the bridal party getting ready, the ceremony, the meal, the speeches, the cake slicing, first dance and the beginning of the evening party. Any preferences or additional requirements to the above, expressed by you, will be taken most seriously, by me, your loyal wedding photographer. Choose the wedding package most suited for your requirements.
Documenting the preparations of your wedding include the lovely little details of the bride getting ready, the dress, the flowers, the shoes…the things that make your wedding yours! I am very happy to also photograph the groom getting ready if this is within a reasonable distance and there is time to do so. Upon request, I can bring a second shooter if needed.
I usually make my way to the site of the ceremony before the bride, so I can catch the groom waiting with the wedding guests and the bride arriving. I will work discretely and quietly throughout the ceremony while photographing the various aspects including the wedding party and the surroundings.
Cheesy portraits and awkward poses are not why you have selected me as your photographer, but some natural shots of you as newly weds looking fabulous will be lovely to have later. We will take a stroll to do this when you so prefer, but we’ll be quick as to not steal you from enjoying your day! Any other group shots, if deemed necessary, are usually best taken right after the ceremony and before sitting down for the meal.
The story of your day in imagery closes when the cake has been cut and the first dance spun on the dance floor. I am very flexible and anything outside this basic outline is not only possible but welcomed! However, please make sure you let me know any major plans in advance so that I can come well prepared.
